When did you start working for PMF?
I started working for PMF officially in 2011, but I feel like I was on board from the beginning. I worked for a large medical supply distributor and I was a sales rep for PMF. I got to know the company on Day One!
What was the company like when you started?
It had just a few employees compared to the number we have today. The company was in high growth mode, though. Brian and Clint's well-thought-out business plan along with their enthusiasm for mentoring employees made for an exciting work environment. PMF was going places! (Not much has changed in that regard.)
Why did you decide to apply for the job?
I applied for the job because it was a perfect opportunity. I am the mother of two sons with autism. They are on the severe end of the spectrum, so they need constant care. By the time I was ready to relocate (from New England), I still had one son living with me, and now I needed to go where my elderly parents lived (Florida). My mom and dad were reaching that age at which they needed care, too. In conversations with my (then) customers, Brian and Clint, they suggested that when I was ready to move south, I could work for PMF—remotely—so I could have more flexibility to care for my family members. What a blessing!
What was your first role with the company?
I started as an inside sales representative for new business development.
What aspects of your current role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy the variety that's part of my work every day. I never imagined myself working in Marketing or eCommerce, but here I am. And I love it!
What are the most important changes you have noticed within the last couple of years?
I think we have always worked well together, but recently, all departments have really unified in a common purpose to find new ways to better serve our customers.
What do you think are the most important things that have NOT changed about the company?
Everybody says it, but it's really true: we are a family at PMF. People care about one another. It shows in our workplace, so great relationships with our customers just come naturally. Also, there's a great sense of fun around here because we enjoy each other's company!
What's the coolest thing you are working on right now?
The website! There are so many things on the horizon. Keep watching.
And now, a little about you personally. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in (and around) Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Tell me a little about your family.
I am married to my childhood sweetheart! I have two grown sons. I also have a stepson, daughter-in-law and six step-grandkids! And I still have my parents. They have been married for almost 73 years. Oh, and we have a little black dachshund named Oskar.
What's your favorite family tradition?
Our Christmas tree! I have been collecting ornaments since 1975, so I have LOTS of them. I think I am a little addicted to Christmas ornaments because every year, I have to have at least one (or five) more.
What's the last book you read?
I have way too many books on my Kindle. Right now I am reading Agents of the Apocalypse by David Jeremiah, Your Best Year Ever, by Michael Hyatt, and I am re-reading the Poldark series by Winston Graham.
Do you have a secret talent? (Or one you don't get a chance to use on the job?)
I play the piano. Shhhh.
